I have spent the last decade working in major cities across the U.S.: at an art and design college, at a small-production winery, and at a literary journal run from Taipei with editors spread out around the world. Each industry widened my perspective into what moves people to act, learn, and invest, and how they piece together the lives they aspire to live.
Over time, I’ve learned the value of observing results on diametric scales: the cultural and the structural, lucrative and environmental, macro and micro. When we understand the full spectrum of outcomes, we gain the ability to not only locate promising ideas but also to create the conditions for them to take root.

Each industry widened my perspective into what moves people to act, learn, and invest, and how they piece together the lives they aspire to live.
At ArtCenter, my colleagues and I designed strategic programming that reached from Pasadena to Berlin, Taiwan, and Singapore, and our collaborations with partners and organizations brought global questions and conversations to ArtCenter’s audiences. Bringing those ideas into reality required a dynamic effort to understand the shifting conditions of creative industry, as well as the push and pull of culture and technology.
